Adolescent & Pre-teen Therapy

Adolescent & Pre-teen Therapy

Being a teenager is hard! I was there once, and I know it can be one of the most challenging phases in life. Sometimes, or maybe most of the time, you might feel as though parents and other adults do not understand (or remember) the teenage struggle.

Well, the struggle is real, I know it. And I am here to help. Therapy might sound like a weird thing to try, or maybe you just have no idea what it’s like and talking to an adult that you’ve never met seems scary or boring (or both). I promise it is not scary, and it will not be boring if you come with an open mind. In all honesty, therapy is a safe space where you can work through problems and express your feelings in a non-judgmental, supportive environment. We can work through conflicts that you are having with family, problem-solve situations with friends and peers, and explore anything else that is creating chaos in your life.

Ask yourself these questions. If you answer “yes” to any of them, I really recommend giving therapy a try.

Are you having a hard time communicating with your parents?

Does it seem like anything you do just isn’t enough, no matter how much you try?

Have you been feeling like no one understands what you’re going through, even your closest friends? Or maybe you are too embarrassed or ashamed to say it aloud to anyone?

Do you wish you had someone to talk to about all of these emotions that you are feeling, without feeling vulnerable or judged?

Are you struggling to keep up with school responsibilities because you have so much on your mind?

Do you have a hard time believing in yourself?

Has something really scary or bad happened to you, and you don’t know who to talk to about it? And is it causing you to feel a lot of confusing feelings?

These are all very difficult situations to face on your own. If you answered yes to any of these questions, please reach out to me, or someone that you trust. I want to help you find resolution to these problems.

If you are considering giving therapy a try, but would like more information, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation where you can ask me questions and we can talk a bit about what to expect.
